Now taking fall orders

Firewood, split and ready.

Hardwood from our own tree jobs, split on our processor in Pikeville. Priced by the pound, so you pay for exactly what you take.

5¢a pound

When we take a tree down, good hardwood doesn’t go to waste. It comes back to our yard, goes through the processor, and gets stacked for the season. You get honest firewood at a fair price, and less of it ends up in a landfill.

Common questions

Firewood questions.

Still wondering? Call Eddie at 919-738-3333.

What's the difference between a cord and a rick?

A full cord is a stack 4 feet high, 4 feet deep and 8 feet long: 128 cubic feet. A rick (or face cord) is one row 4 feet high and 8 feet long, as deep as the logs are cut, which usually works out to about a third of a cord. Because we sell by the pound, you don't need to worry about which one you're getting. Tell us roughly how much you want and we'll give you a total before we load.

Why sell by the pound?

It's fair both ways. Stacks settle, and piles loaded in a truck bed are hard to measure. Weight is exact, so you pay for precisely what you take home.

Is the wood seasoned?

Ask when you order and we'll tell you what's in the yard and how long it's been split. Seasoned wood lights easier and burns hotter with less smoke. Freshly split wood is fine too if you stack it to dry for next winter.

How should I store it?

Off the ground on pallets or rails, bark side up on top, with the sides open to the air and the top covered. Keep your main stack away from the house so bugs don't move in, and bring in a few days' worth at a time.
