Small dig jobs, done with our own excavator.
A lot of tree work doesn't stop at ground level. Stumps and root balls have to come out, roots have to be cleared before anything gets built, and cleared ground needs leaving in shape for the next step. We do that dig work ourselves with our Kubota excavator, so you're not waiting on a second contractor.
If your project is a small one that goes with tree or land work, ask us. We'll tell you straight away whether it's a job for our machine.
Stumps and root balls, out of the ground
Grinding is right for most lawns, but where you're building, pouring concrete or putting in a driveway, the stump and its roots need to come out completely. The excavator pulls them whole and the hole gets backfilled, so there's nothing left in the ground to rot and settle later.
Clearing building sites
When a lot is cleared for a house, shop or addition, roots and buried debris left behind cause problems for the foundation and the grading crew. We dig them out as part of the clearing, so the ground is ready for whoever comes next.
One crew, start to finish
Because we own the excavator, the tree work, stump removal and dig work can all happen on the same job, on our schedule. That usually means fewer visits, less damage to the yard and a lower total than hiring separate crews.
What’s included
- Free on-site estimate
- Stump and root-ball removal with the excavator
- Roots and buried debris cleared from building sites
- Holes backfilled and ground left ready for grading
- Debris hauled away
What affects the price
Every job is priced on site, for free. These are the things that move the number, so you know what we’re looking at when we walk your yard.
A single root ball is a short visit; a whole building site takes longer.
Whether the excavator can drive straight to the spot, or has to work around fences and structures.
Wet or rocky ground and buried debris slow the digging down.
Doing the dig work on the same visit as the removal or clearing saves a trip.
Can you pull a stump instead of grinding it?
Yes. Where you're building or pouring concrete we pull the stump and roots out whole with the excavator and backfill the hole. For lawns and beds, grinding is usually cheaper, and we'll tell you which fits.
Do you do excavation that isn't tree-related?
Small jobs, often. Tell us what you need and where, and we'll let you know whether it's a job for our machine.
Tell us about the tree. We'll take it from there.
Send a few photos and your address. We usually get back to you the same day.
